1992 - Ingmar "Terry" Lundquist tries unsuccessfully introduce Aussie Rules in Sweden.
1993 - Terry tries again and this time is successful. With help from Swede Joacim Aulin they found the first Aussie Rules club in Sweden, Helsingborg Australian Rules Football Club.
1994 - Helsingborg Saints compete in the the Danish Australian Football League. Joacim Aulin is the first Swede to be awarded the scholarship program to play one year in Australia with VAFA side Powerhouse.
1995 - A new Swedish team, Lund Bulldogs is founded by ex-Saints coach Marc Breeze. They join the DAFL competition the same year only to fold mid-way through the season.
1996 - Helsingborg Saints finish on top of the DAFL home and away ladder undefeated. They would lose the Grand Final to Farum.
1997 - Sweden plays it's first National Game against Denmark Vikings at Brohult, Helsingborg. Danes win in the snow.
1999 - Henrik "Shaggy" Norén is awarded the Powerhouse scholarship program.
2000 - An attempt to start a team in Stockholm fails. Helsingborg Saints lose the DAFL's lightning cup Grand Final to North Copenhagen.
2001 - DAFL's lightning cup tournament is held in Helsingborg. The home team win all their round robin games only to lose the final to Århus.
2003 - Three new teams join the newly formed Skåne Conference in DAFL, they are Helsingborg West, Lund and Port Malmö. Helsingborg joins DAFL Regional competition and change their name to Southern Saints. The first Swedish team outside of Skåne is founded by Martin Språng, they come from Gothenburg and call themselves Göteborg Berserkers. Port Malmö wins the first Skåne Conference Grand Final over Helsingborg West.
2004 - A second attempt to start a team in Stockholm looks to be successful with the founding of the Stockholm Dynamite. At this time the idea of Swedish Australian Football Association is born.
