Cudas Clinch Classic Contest
Sep 19 2004
In an astonishing completion to the season, it was the expansionist Cudas who overcame first their clubmates, the Barras, and then the Farum Cats in a sensational Grand Final at Farum yesterday. The Cudas were on top for most of the day, and even looked home and hosed at three-quarter time with a 32 point lead. But the Cats made a tremendous surge in the last quarter to get to within five points at the 11-minute mark. At that point the game slowed as players from both sides began to tire. Nevertheless, the Cats again got to within three points at the 22 minute mark (quarters are 20 minutes plus time on), but they never hit the front and the Cudas outlasted them to win by four points, despite kicking fewer goals.
Jesper Gjorup was awarded best-on-ground, while Mikkel Norlander equalled the record for the most goals in a DAFL Grand Final with eight - an extraordinary five in the last quarter alone (has anyone ever kicked five goals in the last quarter of a losing Grand Final side anywhere?).
Congrats to the Cudas, and it's surely a credit to the expansion plans that such a team could win the flag.
The Final Score saw North Copenhagen Cudas defeat the Farum Cats 14.15.(99) to 15.15.(95).

Erik Krolmark - DAFL to make more changes for 2004
Feb 24 2004
The DAFL will keep the same format as last year with 3 divisions  and 12 a side. Only this year 3 clubs will split into 6 even teams. The teams are Amager Tigers (now A. tigers and A. Hawks (yes, Holte Hawks will come under Amager)), North Copenhagen Barracudas (like last year the Barras and the Cudas but this year as 2 even teams) and finally Farum Cats (now Farum Cats and Farum Lions). This has been made to even the finals out. Have a look on last years Quarter and semi finals. That was a big joke. The teams from the other 2 divisions didn't have a chance. With this we're levelling out the league. I don't think this is a positive thing just now (the level will go down for a while which will hurt the National Team. But looking ahead it will help the league.
