This league is played in Sweden and is part of the DAFL. In one of the one sided Grand Finals in football history Port Malmö defeated the Lund Magpies by a massive 175 points, Lund where never in the game after being smashed in the first quarter. At quarter time Port Malmö had kiscked an impressive 13.3.(81) to just 1 point and although Lund but up a better effort in the remaining quarters they where still out played and ended up loosing 30.21.(201) to 3.8.(26). For Port Malmö Gatan Blondé who is French kicked 7 goals for the day to be top goal kicker, and in one of the more controversial</div> </tD> </tR> </TABLE></div> <div> decisions ever made Andreas Svensson was awarded best on gournd despite playing for a team which lost by 175 points. I am not quite sure who that can happen. It was a deserved win for Port Malmö after the went through the season undefeated.</div> <div> Before the big game their was a curtain raiser between Helsingborg West and Göteborg, Helsingbord West play in the Skane league while Göteborg are a new club looking for games and what proved to be a bit of an upset it was Göteborg who took the points with a 55 point win. The final score was Söderut 9.16.(70) to Norrut 4.11.(35). The Stockholm Australian Football League consists of 3 teams, the 2 which took place in the Grand Final as well as Central. This game has been played in Denmark for a number of years now but is relatively new in Sweden. However from the first bounce it looked as if the Swedes had been playing the game all their life (half the team was Aussies) as they jumped out to a massive 45 point lead at quarter time. Denmark then fought back hard in the second quarter outscoring the Swedes by 4 goals to go in at half time trailing by 21 points. Denmark then cut the margin down to 11 points at 3 quarter time and looked as if they may ran away with it, but for the first time in the history of International football the match ended in a draw Denmark 15.8.(98) to Sweden 14.14.(98). Although the Swedes did let a massive lead slip they should be proud of their effort against an established nation. As for Denmark they have a few questions that need to be answered before August if they are going to be competitive at the International Cup.
