The result of this unfortunate event is that the AFL has once again had to change the draw. They have created history by becoming the first ever NZ AFL team in almost 100 years to win an AFL tournament. The majority of these Kiwi AFL junior footballers have come from the NZAFL's Under 17's competitions which were run for the first time last season in Auckland and Wellington.</div> </tD> <tD VALIGN=TOP><NOBR><div> <IMG SRC="1b48cb50.png" border=0 width="396" height="181" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> </NOBR></tD> </tR> </TABLE></div> <div> Other players have come from the NZAFL's Junior Development Schools Program. Their performance in this Tournament was exceptional, especially considering how new the majority of the players are to the game of AFL.
